Every year, on February 18, are celebrated the commemoration in memory of Anna Maria Luisa de 'Medici, the Electress Palatine.

Anna Maria Luisa, better known under the title of Electress Palatine was the last descendant of the Medici family. She was a strong lady, her most notable act was the Patto di Famiglia ("Family Pact"), signed on 31 October 1737.In collaboration with the Holy Roman Emperor and Francis of Lorraine, she willed all the personal property of the Medici's to the Lorraine family, provided that nothing was ever removed from Florence.

Through the "Family Pact", she ensured that all the Medicean art and treasures collected over nearly three centuries of political ascendancy remained in Florence.
